How does the AMD Sempron processor run? i had an AMD in the hp and did fine. any thoughts or comments about this model please post up.

AMD Sempron...? Yuck! Is that even dual core?

Check out the Vostro 1000 or 1500, I think you'll like them.

The 1501 was the original laptop that I was looking at when I wanted to buy one. It looks like a very nice laptop, for the price. When you customize the processor on the 1501, one of the AMD processors is dual-core.
The AMD processors aren't as good as Intel, but it should work just as fine.

I own a Inspiron 1501 and a Vostro 1500. For the money the 1501 is a good buy at that price only if you buy it with the Turion X2 processor. That's what came with my system and I found a link on the net for $449 for the laptop. This was just before the Vostro's were introduced.

As Greg said the Vostro 1500 is a much better machine for pennies more, plus they look better. I kept my Inspiron 1501 because Dell gave me a $75 discount so the total cost was $374 plus tax.

    A 1501 for $374?!? Wow...

But yes, dual core is the way to go. Compare dual core machines and forget single core!
