I have the Dell Inspiron 1501 laptop and I'm interested in upgrading the RAM from 1gb to 2gb. I would like to ask if it is possible to use the 2x512's that the laptop already has, and throw another 1gb to make it 2. Or should I buy 2x 1 gb and throw away the 512's.
    Thanks

    There's only 2 slots, so option 2.

Yep...if you need to, look at support.dell.com for a service guide on how to gain access to the ram.

Also check the ram deals thread for deal on memory(check the first and last couple of pages)

Also, you might want to save the orginal ram just in case their are problems with the new ram).
