I have the option of a 14.1" or a 15.4" on a 1501. I was wondering if the 14.1" will mean a smaller, lighter chassis, or does it just mean more bezel filler around the screen?

Umm, I believe 14.1 inch widescreens are smaller than 15.4 inch ones.

A xps 1210 is not the same size as an xps1710 with a smaller screen and lots of bezel. It simply is a smaller machine.

So a 14.1" 1501 will be in a smaller chassis than the 15.4" one.

Laptop manufactures do not have only 1 chassis, and then place all different screen sizes in there with varying amounts of bezel to make up for the smaller screen.
