I've had this machine for about a year now and this has always been a issue, It's not my internet or router, When i'm useing my computer the internet suddenly stops but yet my game still stays online till I close it, so it's something on this computer, I point all fingers to Vista because it sucks, Another odd thing is This 1501 dosn't have the same specs the internet has, is it a special edition or just a lucky box? lol anyway, if anyone els had this issue, please tell me how to fix it, it used to happen once a day, now it happens many times, sometimes hour apart or less.

What brand of router are you running? I don't see there being incompatibilities between the router and laptop if it's a Linksys router - Linksys uses broadcom and so does the Dell branded wireless cards.

Have you tried updating the drivers on it?

Another possibility is that Vista is configured to put the card in to a power saving mode. When it does this, the card is powered down and no longer works. To check this, go to System>Device Manager>Right Click on card > Properties>Power management ... and make sure the checkbox that says allow windows to turn off to save power is NOT checked. As a matter of fact, I would try this first.

    Hope this helps :)

I'll have to boot up one of my vista machine and see where it's at.

Edit: I didn't get on the vista machien but I checked on the XP laptop. Depending on how it is is set up, it may be in the Advanced tab on the device. Make sure that Power Save is set to disabled, or minimum ... can't quite remember how the settings are.

the settings are going to be a bit different for this card because it is artheros.
