My DVD drive has recently been compromised, i can not share the details of how this happened, but needless to say, i now require a new drive. Does anyone happen to have a list of compatible optical drives that i could buy for my dell inspiron 1501?

The drive was: TSST TS-L632H slim 8x DVD+/-RW if i recall correctly. Thanks.

You can pretty much use any PATA/IDE laptop CD drive. If you want one with the right bezel, just look for "1501 dvd drive" on eBay or Google shopping or wherever. Just make sure you get a DVDRW if you want to retain those capabilities...

Like Commander Wolf said, try eBay, or any online shopping sites.

EDIT: Here, Assuming you are in the US.. I don't know. If not, just get the item number, and go to your eBay site, and put it in the search, or better yet, just search for a drive.
