My dad has a inspiron 1501 and everytime it wakes up from sleep mode, the screen is green and is shaking up. I've elimited the fact that it could be OS-based (happens on both vista x64 and ubuntu....). So is it ready to be RMAed?

Sounds like a graphics card issue. Green screens usually mean that.

I'm currently typing on a 1501 and I put it in sleep mode a lot and i'm not having that problem. Do you close the lid when you put it to sleep? If so I would check the display connector going to the motherboard IF you feel comfortable doing that. It could need a reseat. When panels or monitors go one color it usually indicates a graphics problem like Pixelot mentioned or a cable connection is off.

edit: If you don't fel like fooling with it I would arrange to have it serviced.

Yeah my dad only close the lid and it goess into sleep mode.

Does that involve removing a warranty sticker? If not, I've got no problem

I can't believe how many issues there are with Dell. 4 pages after not even a day?
