Just wondering for the 1505 does the 9-cell battery stick out? I had my 1505 for about 6 months now, and my battery does not stick out in the back.... I dont know if they by accident sent me a 6-cell battery instead of a 9-cell. Is there a way to tell what kind of battery? I have a feeling they sent me the wrong battery. Thanks

My brother has a 6400 (same thing as 1505) and his 9-cell is flush to the body just like the 6-cell

No the e1505 9-cell does not stick out. The battery mounting area is fully enclosed within the body of the laptop. My fiancée has had both the 6-cell and 9-cell (she actually had 2 6-cells - her original was one of the infamous Sony batteries). The 9-cell does have an area on the bottom maybe 2"x1" that is thicker than the rest of the battery where the 6-cell did not, but it does not protrude further than the feet on the bottom of the laptop.

thanks for the information guys. I was wondering how could you tell the difference between a 6 cell and a 9 cell battery? I am trying to figure out if I have a 6 or 9 cell battery. Took my battery out and on the back it read "85 WHr" So does it mean I have a 9 cell? Is there a software I could use to tell me what kind of battery I have? thanks for the help

Like the last poster said, the 85 WHr battery is indeed the 9-cell. However like I said, if you are looking at the bottom of the battery (the side that faces out when it's in the computer), there is a raised section on the wider side almost 2" square on the 9-cell, whereas the 6-cell is completely flat.
