The 1520 is a discontinued model. Replaced by the 1525, perhaps thats the reason for lack of info. But you should be able to find any info on the 1520 on this forum.

Its a great laptop. The 1520 has pretty much the same specs as the XPS but cheaper. Dell needed to create a bigger difference between the 2 models (XPS and 1520) so they came up with the 1525. The 1525 is not as powerful as the 1520, although it is slimmer. The 1520 is the same computer as the Vostro 1500. Compare the vostro with the 1525 and you'll see what I mean.

mine will have the 1.6GHz T2330 dual core and 2GB RAM.
Is that good, for a non gamer?

Also can someone simply explain the difference between dualcore and core2duo?

Graphics card matters for gaming not processor. And that processor you got is the old version. Don't tell me you got the integrated chip, if so then you should have gotten the 1525.

I agree...Unless you have the 8400gs or even better...the 8600gt gpu, you'll do better by returning the 1520 and getting the 1525

A dual core computer has two seperate processor chips. But, I'm sure you meant Duo Core vs Core 2 Duo. ;)
The difference is just different generations of processors. If you are not a gamer then you really don't have to worry too much about it.

i said i'm not a gamer lol, not on a laptop anyway, on a PS3.

thanks deathstick, i'm sure your right and thanks.

    I can always upgrade to 3GB RAM and a T7500 core2duo eventually.
