Hey, I have an Inspiron 1520 with BIOS version A03 loaded stock.

I hear that the newely shipped Inspiron 1520s have BIOS version A04 loaded. However, the latest version available on the Dell website is A03.

I'm looking to flash version A04. Does anyone know a place where we can get it?

My advice, if your machine is running fine, don't bother.

If it ain't broken don't fix it. Otherwise if something was to happen, your machine would be a fancy paperweight.

Unless the new bios version provides many new feature/options/fixes I ain't worried. I got A00... lmao

I won't upgrade unless i'm specifically affected by it.

I just pulled that from the Dell site. Notice the "newer Intel processor" part? Well this is A03, A04 must even add more support or fixes for new stuff. This smells of Penryn support. SCORE! :D (I don't recall seeing any other new mobile chips being released or has been besides Penryn...)

I'm gonna take the leap and upgrade from A00, if anyone tracks A04, let us know. I'm gonna get a hold of a Penryn CPU ASAP...

LOL I change my tune completely as soon as I small a upgrade/mod in the future.

    I just realized that I have A00!

The main reason why I was thinking of flashing a newer version was to see if the interference from the headphone jack would disappear.

Also, I am the kind of person that likes having all the latest software updates... :p
