Hey there, I just installed Windows Xp on a new Inspiron 1520 because my uncle hates Vista. Anyway, this is about the third time I've cleaned Vista off a computer and put Xp on instead and this hasn't happened to me and I don't know what to do...

Once I got into XP I installed the Chipset i found from a thread somewhere on this site and after I did, none of the USB ports were working. They had been prior because the chipset was on my USB stick... Any one have any ideas how to solve my problem?

Also, I am not the most knowledgeable when it comes to computers, I just know enough to get by so please don't use any unnecessary techno-babble if thats possible otherwise it will just add to the headache caused by the computer.

    Cheers

Go into the BIOS Setup (F2 on boot) to check to see if the usb is diabled.

You probably installed the wrong chipset driver. Try installing the right one.
