Whenever a black screensaver is displayed the lcd screen nearly looks as if half of the screen is white and the other is black, where the white portion changes shape and location as you tilt the lcd forward and back. All of the colors look blanched and overly bright on the desktop. When I reduce the brightness of the monitor the color vibrance does not get any better. Have any of you had similar opinions on this type of display? It isn't horrid by any means, but it surely isn't spectacular. When playing games all of the colors are just really washed out.

Do you have any pics or try and take some pics to see what it looks like?

I had the glossy version of this display, and it did the same thing. Laptop displays are pretty bad in general, but this was worse than any display model I've seen at CompUSA and Best Buy. Which video card did you get? If NVidia, you might get an improvement by going into its control panel applet and turning down the gamma. The gamma on my 8600GT was at 50% by default, and turning it down did improve the desktop appearance, but it's not going to fix the problem you described in your first sentence. I found the display unsuitable for watching movies, and the simple games I tried weren't any better. For example, the colored balls in Zuma would look saturated at the top of the display and very washed out at the bottom, and I couldn't fix that. There's just no angle that makes the whole screen look good. Well, if you step back 10' or so, it looks pretty good, I guess. :)

Are you getting it replaced or are you sticking with it? I'm most likely not going to try to get it replaced because with my luck i'd get one that's worse. I'm thinking that it could also just be the laptop2go drivers or something.
