    Hi guys,

I registered with your site just so I could ask you guys this question, since the Dell forums are down and I can't get anybody on the Dell tech support chat.

I have an Inspiron 1520, and the 8-in-1 card reader is obviously compatible with SD cards. But before I go out and buy a card, I want to make sure that its not only compatible with regular SD cards, but SDHC (SD high capacity) cards.

I have looked all over the net and haven't found an answer to my question. The user manual makes no mention of high capacity cards.

I am getting a new cell phone that has a microSD slot. I want to buy a 4GB microSDHC card (I would get 16GB but the phone software only allows 4GB max!) so I can load it up with ringtones and music and pictures and whatnot. I am going to purchase a microSD to SD converter so that I can use my card reader on my laptop, but I didn't want to buy anything until I was positive the 1520 would read the high capacity cards, since I know its a relatively new technology.

So... this has been a really long-winded post but what I'm asking is, can the 8-in-1 card reader support high capacity cards????

    Thanks for your help

Do a forum search, but I rem. this discussion when I owned my i1520...

It does support it if I rem. it correctly, but I never tested it myself.

Yes it does. I have a 1520 and have used a 4 gb SDHC card in it with no issues.
