MY 1520 has been doing this for about two months now. When the hard drive gets warm after some good accessing (defrag), it starts to buzz.

At first, I thought it was the fan going bad. I replaced the fan and it still does it. By listening around, I found it is the hard drive making this noise.

This makes me think the HD is on its way out.

I just get ahold of dell service for this? Also, would I be able to keep the laptop and just send the HD in?

buzzing or real fast ticking? you could just have loud hard drive. if it's buzzing... you need to get rid of the bees. but seriously, what brand drive is it?

It's a Toshiba brand drive. Which I find funny because I've never seen a toshiba drive in a Toshiba

It didn't buzz when new but now it does after it runs a while
