    Hello,

I got my Inspiron 1520 couple of days back. I could sense a good amount of vibration after inserting a media into its CD/DVD drive. Although it goes silent after few seconds. Anybody experienced a similar problem on 1520?

    Thanks

Ooops!! I should have added this thread outside the "Dell Order Status......" thread. Sorry for that. How can I move this thread now?

    Thanks

I had the same problem with my 1520, the vibration wasnt just the cd spinning up it was like the sound of the door virbating very loudly, i tried taking it out putting it back in..didnt change..i dont wanna call dell to get a new drive theres nothing wrong with this one it works perfectly fine... THIS is how i fixed it... 4 strips of 3m Scott DUCT TAPE ... theres one screw that holds the drive in take it out..remove the drive put the tape on the bottom of the drive not the top or the sides... this fixed my problem it has been quiet for months! :0) for the DIY's out there i hope that helps
