Inspiron 1520 Canada ship dates?

Hi everyone,

I'm just wondering, about how long did it take you to get your inspiron 1520 if you're from Canada? I just ordered mine (Specs in sig) and I have an ESD of August 30th. Is there any chance that it will ship earlier? I'd like to have it before I go to college.

 

I just got mine today, the mail man's knock on the door woke me up and I ran to the door half naked!!!!!

I was really worried that it might get delayed a month like the others because I ordered it in the beginning of August but my residence move-in date is start of September.

 

How long ago did you order and what were your specs?

I ordered mine on July 21st and it's been delayed until the 17th of August.

 

vb66, what were your specs? It seems that people who ordered a T7500 processor are getting their inspirons faster than those who got a T7300. I think this is because the T7300 is way more popular, and thats probably its taking longer.

 

I did order a T7500 processor. The specs you have on your signature are the exact same as mine. What colour did you get?

the only complaint i have is when I plug in the headphone jack with a cheaper earplug, the same static hiss from my Inspiron 6400 is still there, but I tried all of my more expensive headphones, even earplugs with decent bass, the noise goes away.

 

When did you get the notebook?

Are you kidding me?! I ordered mine on the 1st of August as well and my estimated delivery date is the 20th of August...

 

ya, it still say Aug 20 on the Dell's tracking site as of this moment

but shipping began on august 9

I order my 7120 on Aug 2 and it origonally had a ship date of Aug 20. I ordered the T7500 as well.

Magically it turned to Shipped today... I hope you have the same luck!!

I first placed an order for an Inspiron 1520 on 7/11. I have had 4 delays. It was supposed to ship today 8/15 and I think it just was pushed to 8/22. I am going to look to purchase a non-Dell computer and cancel the Dell order if I find something close to the 1520. This is my first experience with Dell as an end user, the customer service staff has very little if any information to answer specific questions. I will try to purchase from another manufacturer going forward.

 

Wow, I must be lucky, I ordered on July 30th and got mine today, earlier than the expected ship date.

 

I ordered my 1520 on the 8th of july.. ship date of july 26th.. i didn't receive an updated estimated ship date.. so I contacted dell and eventually one rep gave me an esd between 15th-20th. Apparently there was a shortage in the type of video card I had. Now I'm just waiting...

You got yours today?!

I spoke with a Dell CSR rep at a kiosk and he SHOWED me that my order is delayed due to my processor, a T7100. Yet you ordered a T7100 and you got yours today.

I'm confused.

 

I am also waiting but since mine is in or probably was in transit in the U.S. we'll just have to wait and see. I ordered 2/08/07, they shipped it on 13/08/07 with an ESD of 30/08/07, but I seriously doubt it'll arrive by the 30th. Purolator is quite good so I am going to assume it's sooner... while hoping and praying I am right.

It seems like for the most part it is the jet black and midnight blues that are being shipped the most. I have not heard of many of the other colours being shipped.

Wow, I just ordered an Inspiron 1521 on Aug. 17, 2007 and the estimated ship date is Sept. 28, 2007! That's insane.

I bet I could pick up a similarly configured HP notebook from Futureshop for the same price by the time I receive the Inspiron. My main reason for choosing Dell is to get a dual-core CPU and 2 GB RAM for under $800 CDN (before taxes).
