Inspiron 1520 Crimson Red....Orders??

I Just called the dell parts change/modification number (USA). And they told me my laptop has no delays but she said that all color laptops have delays....except black. Red has an 8 day delay.

Also the woman said that NO LAPTOPS ARE BEING SHIPPED right now. ( I seriously doubt that).

Anyone else have any comments?

Anyone order what I did???? Est ship date is still 8/13. Sigh

you ordered 7/25 and your ship date is 8/13 lol be happy. hopefully they wont delay you to 8/28 like the rest of us. good luck!

URGGHHHH!!!! Delayed 7 days. Switching to a Toshiba if not shipped by August 15th. Daughter needs this for university!!!!

 

I asked today for a $100 coupon to compensate for the delay. They said no way, you already got free next day shipping.

 

when did they notify you of your delay? and how? ex. email, phone....etc.

That is a very good sign that they only delayed you 7 days from today, instead of the dreaded 8/28

 

I found out thru the CSR at about 9am and got the email notice about 10:30am. I was upset at first and after thinking about it I agreed with mtylerjj that it is a pretty good sign. If it was delayed until the 28th I would have immediately canceled the order.

I ordered 7/18.

It went to build immediately and has been stuck since.

My ship date was 8/6, which has passed, and I'm now stuck at 8/28.

My friend ordered a black one on 7/31 and he got it today... *sigh*

well, if it says theres a delay on your color, and now your graphics card; Your getting a delay

 

Need it by the 15th? Visit Bestbuy and make your backup plan.

check the website, theres like a 3 day delay on Nvida 8600M GTs...... learn about it before you make insults, only makes you look retarded

I still dont see the delay that your talking about, on 1520 or 1720. Doesnt show up for me.

I guess my laptop hasnt been delayed yet...still no email or phone call.

 

Order my Inspiron 1520 7/24 with an ESD of 8/7. Call them today and I'm told my ESD is now 8/28. What makes me furious is that prior to calling I went to their website, configured a PC exactly like the one I have ordered and it showed an estimated ship date of 8/28... I really think Dell is not being very honest with the original estimated ship dates.

 

I just think they have no idea whats going on in their factories. You ordered a day before me and got a delay. I called Dell again and the CSR said "There is no delay on your order. It still remains on track to be at your home on 8/14. I have also noted that you urgently need your laptop before you leave for school. That date is 8/15? Correct?" Of course I said yes.

Dunno if that means anything.

You posted the 1720...heres what I get with the 1720....(which you stated was 1720...but how is that relevant to the 1520?)

Im thinking the cards are different for each....hmmmm so the 1720 and 1520 numbers have to be different. So I guess no delays on 8600mGT for 1520 as of NOW.

 

I ordered an Inspiron 1521 (i thought the color was ruby red, whatever) on 7/29. It has been delayed twice. Now they are telling me it will ship estimate on 8/28 and I will not receive until September. Is that ridiculous or what? I bet whomever their supplier is will have to pay a discount to them for the delays, in which turn they should relay to us. I paid about 1200 dollars with printer included and some other stuff, but I really love Dell computers. This is my first notebook and I really do want it, just frustrated at not having it yet.
