    Hi!

I I buy a 1520 inspiron notebook with Integrated graphics, can I later install an 8600M GT VGA can in it?

    Can it be done?

No, I would assume that the motherboards would be different, one having the connection for the Dell specific card, and one without.

No you cannot, they use different chipsets.

Even if you can, I would get the 8600 right now because the effort and expense needed to upgrade later might not be worth it.

    It makes sense...

I just happen to have an 8400M GS VGA that needs a home, so I thought I could save $100 on my next purchase by choosing the integrated graphics.

    Thanks!
