Inspiron 1520 Microsatin Blue

If i ordered my 1520 on 8/1 does anyone know if it will be here by 8/24.... I need it for school and thats when im leaving. If anyone has any info on how long their blue inspiron took to ship it would be appreciated.

 

Well I ordered mine on July 13th and still dont' have it so its hard to say, but theres a good chance it might get delayed

 

Yeah, I ordered mine July 12th and it went into boxing on August 14th....good luck...check my sig for info....

 

suppossedly dell got a new shipment of blue lids, but its hard to say. personally i dont think you'll get it by then, but you could get lucky..

 

I ordered on the 17th, its not here yet. Almost a month now...

 

Well we have the exact same build and mine is in my lap, but I ordered on 7/6.

 

well, i ordered on July 21st, and my est. ship date was today........ and it's still in the "build stage"

blah blah blah.... oh yeah, the glossy 1400*900 that they were saying was delayed too.

so i dunno, HOPEFULLY they'll have worked through enough backlog by then to get u out on time, but don't go on a rampage if they don't, it's dell after all =/.

 

I think there is a chance that you'll get it if you went with the 1280x800, otherwise don't hold your breath. I think their stock of Midnight Blue is running dry now.

 

You may also want to look at the Dell Outlet. I don't know how fast those systems ship out but they are supposedly already built and ready so check it out. The Inspiron 1520s just hit the outlet recently.

 

Yeah I wasnt counting on it being here in time, but i could hope. I had to return a 1520 already beacuse of the video card (Intel X3100). Vista didnt run smoothly at all and all kinds of lock ups were happening so i returned my Jet Black 1520 and re-ordered. This was before i was aware of the delays on all the colors since my Jet Black one shipped earlier than expected i figured the Blue would do the same but i guess not haha. Oh well thanks guys.

 

Well, it's possible. I re-ordered my Midnight Blue (original order 7/11) on 8/1 and it should be in my hands tomorrow. (was estimated to ship 8/30) My order was expedited, but I don't know if that actually helps or not.

I wouldn't count to heavily on getting it on time though.

 

I ordered blue on 7/7 and received it today. It was worth the wait!

 

What are your other specs of your laptop? Also i dont know if you can confirm the information of dell building similar laptops at the same time to help production time speed up instead of in the order of the laptop being ordered. If this is true maybe it will ship soon

I ordered mine, a replacement of an e1705 (missing graphic card), last July 13 with an initial finish time by Aug. 13 .

Yesterday, a rep from the order mod dept. said it has been put back to Aug 23, despite the order page still says Aug. 13.

I did inquire of a faster rebuild as many online (including myself elsewhere) knew that some screens and colors were delayed. Well, the black option would finish Aug. 23, so for now I am staying with original 1520 build. She did bump up the shipping, I accepted though I consider that a moot point as I was hoping for the unit last week.

I did consider the WWAN card (as in internal) from Sprint, though declined at last minute because of contract cost.

 

Umm.. Glossy, widescreen 15.4 inch display (1280x800), 85 WHr 9-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery, no webcam, Integrated High Definition Audio 2.0, Dell Wireless 1390 802.11g Mini Card. Not sure if anything else would affect the timing.

As for building similar laptops at the same time, I have no idea but I guess that would make sense?
