I just recieved an inspiron1520 that appears to have a wiped HD. Upon booting from WindowsXP Home CD for reformat, I recieve

"A problem has been deteced and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer...STOP: 0x0000007E... pci.sys - Address F749D0BF base at F7496000, Date Stamp 3b7d855c"

I was given the Dell MDv3.3 CD and it says to run before installing OS even after repartitioning the c: drive, then directing to the OS install, the bsod appears after windows has detected my drivers and is starting up.

It suggests altering my video adapter, but I'm not sure how to do that on a notebook.

Any suggestions or experiences with this problem?
