Since the discount is percentage-based, his RAM/Wireless upgrade mightve boosted him over $1000 in savings, though I don't feel like doing the math.

 

Well I don't really know how exactly I got over $1000 off honestly...when I configured it online I got around $900 off but I wasn't getting 802.11n. So I called Dell and the representative got me 802.11n upgrade and he initially made a mistake with the HDD (5400 RPM) which I later asked him to upgrade to 7200 (I think he did that for free). So after all that configuration, I got the price I did, and then I went on Dell's website again and reconfigured it to see what it would have been.

 

OK I might as well throw my hat in the ring as well. Here's my order. I don't know if it's good or bad. It's a little more money than my daughter's 1505 I ordered a couple of months ago but it's more capable as well... So here it is, let me know... good bad so so

After $253 off, 10% off for premium (201.00), 12% off for EPP, it comes to $1671 with tax.

I registered before the $200 coupon, but this means that I can call them up, and they might even give me the Wireless-N card free and the $200 discount, bringing it down to $1471? I'd buy memory off Newegg.

In England we don't seem to have as many coupons as you but you can bargain with them on the phone! I managed to save about £100 ($200) by negotiating. Then right before I confirmed I hesitated and they offered to throw in free Bluetooth and take another £10 off if I said yes there and then.

 

Maybe I'm missing something but in everyone's list I don't see an AC power adapter listed. Is a power adapter included or do you need to order it under, "Select my power options"?

How were you able to stack the EPP AND the $200 Dell University coupon? Did you do it before they discontinued the stacking? I called today and the rep told me that the coupon terms had changed, and that was why I couldn't stack the EPP with the Dell U.

 

i don't know if you can get wireless N for free anymore either. i'm pretty sure i was charged for it.

 

i think most people were charged for their "free" upgrades. I dont see how they could have got them for free because they are looking a screen that only gives them so many options.

 

I'm so jealous of you all upgrading to your N cards... I was bummed when I didn't have the option for it while customizing my 1520 online through my EPP site. After reading through your posts I thought maybe I could call and have them upgrade me, but unfortunately they couldn't add it onto my currently purchased model because my school hasn't added it as an option yet, and when they customize one from the ground up for me, it's literally $150 extra (and the graphics card goes down, the memory goes up, and the lojack thing comes with it). I couldn't justify the $150 so me and my little a/b/g card will just have to sit a little closer to the router =)

 

you can always buy one later on and add it in

 

Yeah, I want a wireless-N card too but it would jump my ship date from the 16 to like august 5. Not worth it imo.
