Laptop just overheated while playing Left4Dead.
According to CoreTemp I am idling at 60c right now....
Does that seem too high? I bet I'm at 90c while gaming. I saw 81c but that was about a minute after I closed Command and Conquer.

Clean the dust out of your machine maybe?

Have you undervolted your CPU? It can really knock down your temperatures without sacrificing any performance whatsoever.

Quick question -- Should I be applying any thermal paste to the northbridge? It has this stock thin blue pad on it that is raised....Should I put a thin layer of paste on that or leave it?
I don't believe my T5250 supports undervolting. IIRC I tried this a while back to no avail. As far as I know its only for the T7x00 series processors -
I'd leave the northbridge alone and just make sure the heatsink is cleared of dust. If possible try to elevate your notebook so that there is airflow through the fan.
Have you tried RM Clock? That would allow you to undervolt your CPU.
