    Inspiron 1520 RAM upgrade

    What I've read on the forum tells me that the 1520 running VISTA should be able to handle 4 GB of RAM but it doesn't. It will run 3 GB. I have 4 GB and would like to use it. Do I have to update the BIOS? Help?

    Do you have 32 bit or 64 bit Vista? 32 bit can only address ~3.25-3.5 GB RAM. If you have Intel integrated graphics, that also leeches RAM to be used as VRAM.
