which screen resolution would you guys recommend for this laptop. I'm talking about sharpness, color, and possible issues (grain). Is it better to go with the stock lcd or upgrade to a higher resolution one?

25% chance to get a grainy base
50% chance to get a grainy on the one that cost $50.00 more than a base one
25% chance to get a grainy on the one that cost $100.00 more than a base one

I like the higher resolution because there is more real estate on my screen. It's useful for doing 3-D modeling and spreadsheets, among other things. There is virtually no difference between the screens offered in terms of sharpness and color, so the 2 things to consider are 1. risk getting a grainy screen 2. do you like/need a higher resolution screen. Looking at different resolution screens in a store would probably help you with your decision.

Hmm I personally like my WXGA+ display mainly due to its resolution..... It is perfect for all the work I do.... And I am glad I had not choosen the WXGA because it would have made all the things on my desktop large and would not get as much space on my desktop I have now....
