Hello everyone,
As you may or may not know - the Inspiron 1520 has 4 USB ports. 2 on the back and 2 on the right side,
I just connected my USB DYNEX wired optical mouseto the USB port in the back of my inspiron - it did not work - Vista didn't see the "device" first - then it saw it but "failed to install drivers"
Then I tried the same with my old optical mouse - same problem.
However - both mice work FINE when I use the USB port ON THE SIDE.
What's going on?

Hi davron,
have you tried other usb devices? I've tried both usb ports on the back and they both work. -
I don't really have anything else besides 2 mice right now,
But all USB ports work except the one on the back (top)
Does anyone else have this problem?
the top USB port in the back.
Thanks! -
sounds like a hardware problem. i used to have a broken USB port on the front of my desktop which did the same thing
-
But it seems to work fine with everything else (but mice)
