    Inspiron 1520 WSXGA+ screen backordered

    For those of you with the WSXGA+ screen, they are backordered!

    I tried calling the order status number, and it would just transfer me to customer care. I then decided to use the chat.

    My est ship date is 7/25, and it is still "in production". When I started chat I was told that my order may ship sooner than that, once it is off the production line. I inquired for more detailed information, and was then informed that the WSXGA+ screen is backordered and my shipment might be delayed.

    I was then instructed that I should change my order to a screen that is available so I can recieve it by the 1st. I said no, I need that screen for the resolution, and was then given a free upgrade to next day shipping.

    Just passing along the info, I'm waiting no so paitently for my new 1520!!!

    I was wondering why I kept getting transferred on the phone. well this really sucks...I wonder if I should downgrade my screen to the anti-glare so I don't get the "grainy effect".

    Crap. My estimated shipping date is exactly the same (7/25) for the same screen.

    I ordered 3 days (actually 4, but they have 7/8 listed on my account) before you, though. Im hoping that means something, lol.

    From what it sounds like, my laptop is done except for the screen. I just hope that I get it soon because I'm going back to school at the beginning of the month...

    mtylerjr your laptop is almost identical spec as mine. I wonder if we will get them at the same time?

    I hear that the T7500 2.2Ghz takes an extra 3 weeks, compared to the T7300 2.0 Ghz.

    No they told me the 2.2GHz gets priority, but the Audigy Sound is a hold up.

    The WSXGA+ screen is 1680x1050. Your signature shows the 1440x900 which would be the WXGA+ screen.

    From what I have read on these forums all screens are backordered but it seems especially the WSXGA+ screens are backordered. I don't know if this will be a similar timeline for your 1520's but mine finally shipped on July 20, and I had ordered July 1.

    Mine came to $1784.11 including tax and shipping. It looks like mine is similar to yours, but yours came out less. I did get the higher res. screen, wireless N, and cam/mic option, as well as a travel charger. Did you order any of those items?
