Is there a website for Inspiron 1520 Window 7 Drivers, as it's not available on Dell's website.

    Many thanks!

Most of the time, you can use Vista drivers in Windows 7.

Or you could let Windows automatically find drivers online.

When I used the beta, I didn't have any trouble getting the vast majority of the drivers from Windows Update. In most cases where a somewhat generic version was used, using the Vista one instead worked properly, as well (if you are running Win7 64-bit, make sure you get Vista 64-bit drivers from a Dell laptop that is built for 64-bit - the Inspiron 1520 page has only 32-bit drivers). The only issue I had was that after installing the SigmaTel Audio Vista x64 drivers, boot time increased by more than a minute. This may not be an issue for the Vista 32-bit version ones, but just to be safe, if you are satisfied with the generic sound driver (I found it a bit lacking, personally), I'd recommend sticking with that one.

Downloading drivers shouldn't be an issue, either. The Ethernet definitely is available as soon as Windows 7 installs, and the Dell Wireless card is, too (and I can't imagine the Intel one wouldn't be if you got that). I think even the modem was working out of the box/CD, although I've yet to use it a single time in any operating system, so I can't guarantee that one.

It works fine... I think it had an issue with the usb reader (internal reader?? whatever it is officially called), but I it was an easy fix... performed the Microsoft updates.

7 Does fairly well on the 1520... doing bitlocker right now... guess that will take all night.

I loaded Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit... about the only thing I don't like is the speed when using virtual pc... I have to use vpc for an old printer I have (I know, but it only works in xp... it is an OLD cd printer but it still works... lol.. replacement is 3k). Anyway, I need to boost my ram to 4 gb from the 2 I have in there now.

When virual pc is not on things are very smooth...
