    Inspiron 1520 battery dead

    Windows is telling me the battery needs to be replaced...

    I would love to keep this laptop for another 6 months to make it to 3 years without issues and then buy an updated model.

    Should I just hold on or shell out for a battery? I don't see any other issues with the laptop.

    Hmmm - I had a 1520 back in late '07 and liked everything about it except for size and weight. I especially liked the flawless white paint on the lid - and it was as solid as a rock. I've picked up batteries for both my 1555 and 1530 off of fleabay. No problems at all with either battery and both were around $60. If it were me, and you really like your 1520, I'd replace the battery...
