I'm thinking of buying the Inspiron 1520 (WSXGA+ display), but it seems like the majority of the reviews on this board mention that the display is grainy and that the computer makes a high-pitched whining noise when idle. I was just wondering how many people have these problems and if it's still a good idea to go with this computer. If not, I'd probably go with the Sager NP2090. Thanks for your help!

Both the Sager NP2090 and the 1520 are excellent laptops.

After the first shipment of the inspirons the grainy screen issues seems to have decreased somewhat. A decent number of people still hear the headphone interference but this can be avoided with a set of bluetooth or USB headphones.

My 1520 has no problems (although i don't have the WSXGA+ screen). I recommend it highly as a powerful budget laptop.
