    I want to get an inspiron 1520 with a 9 cell battery but i want to see how its looks first....has anyone seen pics of this or if someone has can u please post them??

    It sticks out about 3/4 of an inch as you can see, and it weighs about 250g more. It will give you from an hour to about an hour and a half of increased battery life.

    How long is your battery life?
    I am interested in knowing how much far can a system like yours go when used for light tasks such as reading, writing text documents, browsing (no multimedia).

    (I am torn between 8600GT/8400GS and T7100/T5470)

    My battery on the 6-cell when not gaming or watching DVD's is about 3 to 3 and 1/2 hours.

    It should be pretty much the same for the Vostro 1500. The two laptops are essentially the same build.

    Hmm.... I really don't game away from an outlet and a nice solid surface, but I'll let you know when I get home from work.

    For immediate info, it might be worthwhile to check out the review of the 1520 on this site and possibly CNet.
