I can't get my wireless to work after reformatting to xp. I've tried Dell's PROSet program which does install but says "Adapter problem: driver is not installed". Help me.

It sounds like you need to install your driver...

    :D :D :D

Seriously though, try going to the Dell website here, and installing the driver that corresponds with your setup. It should be under 'Network'.

Seems you havent installed the driver.
It's a smaller file than Proset (which is nearly 70 MB IIRC) and can be found on Dell's webisite.
At least I found it for the Vostro 1500 which is the same machine. Install the driver and then Proset.

I have tried nearly every driver on there they either say that I do not have compatible hardware or just error out.

    BTW from my order description:
"Wireless Networking Cards Dell Wireless 1390 802.11g Mini-Card"

And for some reason driver R174291.exe wants a floppy drive?! It says "This self-extracting zip file is part of a multidisk zip file. Please insert the last disk of the set."

I've tried that one as well. It says I have wrong OS.

I've avoided the problem I posted before by extracting 174291 on my PC first and then transferring the folder to the 1520. Testing now 1 sec.

IT WORKED!!! Thanks for the help.

Be sure you select the correct OS in the drop-down box...

Here's a corrected link. The download and instructions are on this page. :D

Glad to see you got it fixed!
