I use my laptop to watch hulu on my lcd tv. However the vga output stopped working for no apparent reason. The computer will still detect what type of tv and its model number. But the tv still stays black. If I choose the external monitor as the primary display both screens will go black. In order to trouble shoot I hooked up the laptop to several other external computer monitors. None of them worked. I tried different video card drivers and tried new vga cables. That didn't work. So I decided to reformat my computer since I had been meaning to reformat anyways. After installing the proper drivers the output still doesn't work. It seems to me that there maybe a hardware issue with my graphics card/vga port. Are there any ways to figure the exact cause of the problem? Also is there any way of fixing it myself or would I have to send it to dell?
