I have an Inspiron 1521 laptop and the hinge has broken. It looks like it has broken off on the part that is attached to the screen. I have located replacement hinges for sale, but am not sure how to go about taking the computer apart and how to re-attach new ones.

is anyone aware of a set of instructions that would guide me step by step on the removal of covers and trim, as well as replacing the hinges both on the body of the computer and on the screen?

    Thanks!

Apparently hinges breaking on the 1520/1521 and vostro 1500 are common. I've seen two here at my college that snapped the hinges. I"m pretty sure mine are about ready to go too.
