I'm actually on the phone with Dell Customer Support at the time because of a problem I've been having with the settings on my touchpad.

Anyways, I jokingly asked the last two people about the Inspiron 1525 and expected them to say they have no idea or they're not allowed to speak about it. To my surprise, both people spoke about it freely, even though they did not know much. They said that it was realeased on December 14th. They also said that they have their cheat sheets for addressing problems specific to the Insprion 1525 already.

If I go to Dell.com, I can't find the Insprion 1525, anywhere. Anyone know what's going on?

I don’t see it in DELL US site, nor any downloads for it in their support section. Maybe they released it somewhere else in the world…..I don’t know.

Likely a 'underground' type of release to a list of people for extensive testing to ensure theres no issues before productions.

Yeah, I did my searches but nothing came up.

Looks like customer service is prepared to take on questions for the 1525. I asked him if anyone has called about it, and he hadn't heard anything until he checked when I asked.

Running through the stages of emotions. Damn Dell discontinuing my machine 6 months later.. I wonder how it'll effect replacement parts and such?

their only listing it with integrated graphics though. Could well be a glitch, but who knows.
Personally, the main differences we know of now (it may be a bit thiner, and the headphone jack has been moved to the front in an attempt to fix the jack issue) don't bother me as I'm happy with my 1520's size, and the headphone jack is fine. The only major thing that would upset me really is if they decided to use the GDDR3 8600GT in it and not offer it to 1520 owners.

WelshBluebird, Hope you know, you just started a huge mess mentioning DDR3 in the GPU.. Now all the benchmark freaks out there that own 1520's are gonna be foaming at the mouth that it's a possibility!
