    Hello,

I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 that I got new in March 2008, but lately I've been getting a lot of BSODs during normal system use (like web browsing, instant messaging, email, etc.).

    Vista Home Premium 32-bit SP2
    Intel Core 2 Duo T5450 1.66 GHz
    2.00 GB RAM
    250 GB HDD
    Dell Wireless 1505 draft 802.11n

I've run the Microsoft Memory Diagnostic Tool, and that didn't find any memory errors. I've also ran the System File Checker, which did find some errors, but was unable to fix them.

Anyone know what could be the issue? If worst case scenario, I am prepared to reformat and reinstall Windows.

    Thanks.

Probably some sort of software issue... run Windows update or installed new drivers recently? If you're still using the factory image, I'd do a clean install anyway. If anything it'll help you figure out if this is a software or hardware issue.

I did a clean install of Windows using the included Dell media right after I got the computer in March 2008. I didn't opt to install any of the other "junk" that Dell normally includes.

I haven't installed any new drivers lately, and while I've installed some Windows Updates recently, these BSODs have been happening occasionally for a long while now. Just recently have they been happening a lot more, like once or twice a week.

I guess that begs the question... what do the BSoDs say?

I don't exactly remember what the BSOD said because it appeared and disappeared so quickly, but here's what the report in the Problem Reports and Solutions center said from the past few I've gotten:

Don't know if any of that will help. I guess I can dig deeper into the inner workings of Windows if needed.

Update: I went ahead and and reformatted tonight. I installed a fresh copy of Vista Home Premium x86. I've already gotten 2 BSODs in a few hours while just trying to install updates and drivers. I ran the System File Checker, and I got the same error "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them." I checked the log file, and found about five errors on the clean install. I may try to fix them, but I feel that something may be seriously wrong with the hardware because I'm getting these BSODs even after the reformat. I didn't catch the first BSOD, bit the second BSOD was a "BAD_POOL_CALLER" error.

Edit, I also have one driver in the Device Manager that I can't figure out what it is. It's a "Video Controller" under the "Other Devices" category.

You need to install Intell video drivers and i guess the second part of it is HDMI audio support from Intel Graphics.
