    The battery in my 1525 says 14.8v 28Wh TypeGW240, replace only with type gw240, rn873, gp952...

But all the batteries I find online say they are only 11.1v?? So is there a wrong battery in here or are battery sellers just faking buyers out by upping their advertised Wh/Ah by listing a lower than actual voltage?

This is a common practice one sees all the time in RV battery manufacturer ratings - but a 3.7 volt difference is a lot if the system requires 14.8 to operate and it's only getting 11.1. It certainly isn't a bargain to get " higher Wh/Ah" by starving the system's voltage because then all your getting is sluggish/strained performance for a longer period of time, and if they put out the required voltage than sellers are lying about the actual caqpacity...

I got mine second hand so I don't even know if this is it's original battery (it is a dell battery) - any 1525 original owners still have the factory battery in theirs? Is yours 11.1 or 14.8? Anyone bought a replacement from Dell and got the 14.8 or is Dell shipping out 11.1's too now?

I need a new one but I'm not shelling out until I know what gives...

Feedback and info greatly anticipated :)
    Cheers!

The battery in my Inspiron 1525 is rn873 with 11.1 V. I guess you must pay attention at Voltage (V) but not the Power (Wh) when choosing a battery for your Laptop because high current can damage you system.

    Cheers!
