I have an Inspiron 1525 that I got about 13 months ago, and now that I will be getting a new mobile phone that has Bluetooth, I'm trying to get the Bluetooth on my Inspiron 1525 enabled.
There is a Bluetooth status indicator in the front of the computer itself, but I've never seen it light up, nor can I find any indication of Bluetooth in the Control Panel or Device Manager. I've checked the BIOS, and the Internal Bluetooth option is enabled. I then checked Dell's support site for drivers, and I found a Vista Bluetooth driver for the 1525 and installed it, and then a dialog came up saying "Activate Bluetooth using Fn + F2 or Radio On/Off Switch." I've tried doing both options a few times, but to no avail. The only option on the dialog window is "Cancel Installation" which seems to just close the doalog box. Even after rebooting, I see no indication of the Bluetooth from within Windows (including in the Device Manager).
Does my Inspiron 1525 have Bluetooth, and if so, how do I enable it?
Thanks.

If you didn't, though, you still have options. You can order a mini PCI-Express Bluetooth module (probably the Dell 370), and install it yourself. It's a pretty simple process, you won't have to do much more than open a panel, pop the card in, plug in one wire, and screw the thing in place. And this process is completely doable by the user; it will not void your warranty.
Also, if that's too much hassle, you can always order an external USB dongle, it's about the size of a small flash drive.
