I just upgraded my moms laptop from an Intel Pentium Dual Core T3200 to an Intel Pentium Dual Core T4300. When it had the T3200 in it, HWMonitor only displayed one temp for the entire processor, instead of one per core. It also only shows up as one core in the Task Manager

Now that I have the T4300 in it, it still shows up as one core in the Task Manager. In CoreTemp and HWMonitor it shows up as a single core as well. In CPU-Z, it reports the processor as a Intel Core 2 Solo.

Is this just the software not reading the dual core right or what?

I'm running the latest A17 bios and Windows Vista Home Basic.

    Thanks!!!

Maybe you didn't get a T4300? Or one core is defective?

I checked the processor before I installed it, it's a T4300. Do you think both the old and new processor would have a defective core?

I have a second 1525, I'll check if it shows the same thing.

    Thanks!

    *Update:

I ran the Intel Processor Identification Utility, and reports that I have a T4300(which is correct), it also reports that one core is disabled?

    I didn't know that possible?
