I've had my laptop for over 20 months now and for about 80% of that time I have been connecting my laptop to a samsung HD tv - model LE19R86BD.
However about 2 weeks ago when I unplugged my hdmi cable. My laptop wouldn't connect to my tv no more. When I plug in the cable I get a no signal message. When I unplug the cable from the laptop I get a no cable connect message (on tv).

I've updated drivers of everything, looked about on all the settings, tried fn f8 many times and even changed my hdmi cable. My laptop doesn't even reconise an external display no more.

Not sure what else to do. Oh and my video card is 965 intel chipset.

I'm having this exact same problem at the moment with my studio 17, I've tried everything I can think of to get it going again. Does your 1525 still recognise that an external monitor has been plugged in when you go to graphics properties? Mine gives me a 'LCD TV' option so it knows something is connected and roughly what it is, but nothing appears on the tv screen no matter what I do.

Was there any updates that Microsoft released around the same time? Have a look in installed windows updates in the programs and features menu within the control panel. Could be an update they released is causing some sort of conflict perhaps?
