I just got a refurb 1525 yesterday and the computer is great. There is, however, one problem.

If I am typing something in Firefox (i.e. facebook chat), every few minutes another tab or window will open. Or maybe the "find" bar will open on the bottom of the window.

Whatever the case may be, I'm pretty sure that I am accidentally hitting hotkeys. I am unable to find the settings for these hotkeys. I checked (in Firefox) under Tools -> Options -> Main and Tools -> Options -> Advanced.

I am running Firefox version 3.0.8

In case anyone else is having this issue, I did some fiddling with the settings and found the problem..

My wrist was touching the mouse pad on the left side (where the default setting is for you to be able to zoom by scrolling up and down the pad). I turned off the zoom feature for my mouse pad, and the problem is fixed.

If you want to know how to change the zoom setting on an Inspiron 1525, the path is:

Start -> Control Panel -> Mouse (Under the "Hardware and Sound" Title) -> Dell Touchpad -> Scrolling & Zoom Settings.
