    hI Folks!
I also have inspiron 1525 bluetooth woes.
I paid for bluetooth in my inspiron but could not see it in device manager!

I have been using a micro usb bluetooth dongle made for an eepc. With it both my noname bluetooth mouse and my Dell bluetooth headphones work fine.

I opened up the laptop and the little board was there but defective, so I contacted Dell support and they sent me a new one which I just installed this morning.
It actually looks exactly like the one in this ad:
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120332852657

I downloaded all the latest XP (R161378) and Vista(R140135) drivers.
Here are the problems I have:

    1. In Vista home premium, I can see the bluetooth headphones but not the mouse.

    2. in XP SP3 the bluetooth device appears in device manager and I can try and add devices using bthprops.cpl. However neither of my devices are recognized :(.
Since I really want to "downgrade" this laptop to XP, I would really like to get the bluetooth working correctly.
    Any ideas? different xp drivers?

    thanks for any suggestions
