    Hi,
i've noticed there are many threads about grainy screen of Inspiron 1520/Vostro 1500 but there are poor informations about the screen of Inspiron 1525.

What are the screen's brands equiped with this model?

    What are the know issues?

    Thank you.

I'm assuming since they are 15.4'' laptops, they are going to have the same screens installed.

I think the 1525 only comes with one resolution choice the WXGA. Most of the grainy screen problems are with the WSXGA+ 1680 x 1050.

My Vostro 1500 had a WXGA+ AUO grainy screen.

I will order an Inspiron 1525 with WXGA+ resolution (In Italy this resolution is available) but I fear to have the same issue.

I had hoped that the technology changed or Dell had chosen the provision of the LG screen only for this model:-(

Everyone seems to be so fascinated by who manufactured their LCD screens. If it looks good then why worry about it?

I have a non-glossy screen on my 1525 and mine is an LG, not Samsung.

Which LG panel do you have? LPL0201 or LPLC500 or another one? How are the viewing angles? :)

Deathstick, I agree ..someone should tell the peeps in the "how do I get my LG..oops fix my grainy screen?" thread..I have the Samsung and no worries...and yes I have seen others and I even had others check the screen and they are of the same opinion and say it is great...clear ...vivid colours etc....cheers....

The viewing angles on my LG screen are not any better or worse than the others. I have worked on several 1525's, with all of the screens offered and I much prefer the LG. The Samsung screen had very little brightness. The AUO screens I have seen were almost as good as the LG's. But I just couldn't stand looking at the Samsung screens at all. You should also know that I compared them with the same image side by side, not seperately.

Oh, and the LG screen was the LPL0201.

    Good luck.

I have LP0201 on Vostro 1500. Viewing angles aren't too bad.

okay, then i wont change my panel... i got a LPL0201 already and the display inverter makes noise, so dell would swap it, but if the other panels are even worse than the LG, i keep this one :)

    thanks for the info.
