Anyone compare these two for overall build quality/ and or heat issues?
I took a very, very quick look at the 15 today for the first time. At first glance it looked pretty solid to me, but that was about a two minute look at lunch.

I haven't had a chance for any hands on with a Studio. I do however own a Inspiron 1525 and think the build quality is good. During general usage or moving it around it feels solid to me.

I own the 1525 and the problems I feel are:

    - Dont like the glossy screen. No Matte Option
    - Screen is dim when compared to other makes, even on max brightness
    - Weight is not distributed well between body. Front is too light weight so its easy to tip back.
    - Worst issue - Speakers are pathetic.. listening to youtube is so difficult if the recording is soft.

Wonder if the Studio 15 suffers from these?

Glossy screens are standard now with pretty much every manufacturer

The screen is probably dim on the CCFL screens on the studio 15's as well, as they most likely use the same screen as the 1525, so pay the extra for the LED backlit option - I went for the 1440x900 LED screen, as at the time it was only a tenner to upgrade.

Wieght distribution seems fair on the studio.

Integrated speakers arent great, but I really dont care about that as I never use them. Im either on deent headphones or using a proper sound card with external speakers.

I've played with it on a friend's 1525 and they look well built, not as much as my lenovo but still solid.

I have a Inspiron 1525 and think it's great. The Build quality is good too, it should easily last 3 years.
