I can't seem to get a good answer to this very easy question. I have a Dell Inspiron 1526 running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. I want to do a memory upgrade and I've been hearing that I can run up to 8gb of ram. Is this correct? Please and thank you

Officially, the maximum is 4GB, but considering that the 1520 could take at least 6GB (though it seems a lot fewer, if any, have gotten 8GB to work in Inspiron 1x20 series), I'd imagine something similar for 1525/1526. Then again, the 1526 is AMD, so you never know...

What he means is the AMD specsheets didn't tell us anything different and if it could support 6/8 GB. The reason being is 4 GB sticks of DDR2 didn't come out til 2008 at least, way after that AMD chipset and 965 Intel chipset came out.
