Does anyone out there know if there is a 17 inch variant of this model? Some one on craigslist is selling one with a dead hard drive for 100 dollars. I have an extra HDD that I could throw in there and then eBay the computer for at least 200-300 dollars. I could maybe get them to go down to 80 so I was just wondering if this is a good deal. I have no idea what any of the specs are. But I am hoping it has the radeon card and at least a core 2 duo.

1745 was a Studio not an Inspiron. 1545 either came with 4500MHD motherboard or Radeon 4330 motherboard. 1545 were sold with Celerons, Pentium dual cores and Core 2 Duo's. It's not hard swapping out the CPU, there is a dedicated door for the CPU/heatsink.

I suppose the person selling the laptop is misinformed. Either way I can make a quick buck. I just hope it has the Core 2 duo in it and the radeon. But I doubt it as it was a college students computer. Thanks for the info!
