I just received a new Inspiron 1545 and have looked things over to see if I got all of the components that I ordered. One thing that I have no way to identify is the display. Dell offers three choices of display:
    #1 Glossy, widescreen 15.6 inch display (1366x768)
#2 Bright, glossy widescreen 15.6 WLED display (1366x768)
    #3 15.6” High Definition+ (1600x900) LED Display with TrueLife™

I ordered #2. How can I determine that this laptop came with the display that I ordered? I will say that this display has a very sharp, pleasant appearance and I am well satisfied with it.

Have you looked on the packing slip in the box your lappy came in, says all the included components on there ;)

If you mean by the screen installed such as the make of it - there is a way however I am not sure.

The packing list says "Mfg part No. 320-7445 Bright, glossy widescreen 15.6 inch display (1366X768)". When I placed the order, I printed out the order list, and for the display, it said "Mfg part No. 320-7445 Bright, glossy widescreen 15.6 WLED display (1366X768).

So the part number is shown to be the same on both documents, but the packing list does not state "WLED". I suspect that is is the correct (WLED) display because of the part number. Anyway, none of this documentation really helps me. What I am looking for is a way to examine my display and determine if it is the one I ordered.

You could remove your laptop's lid, take apart the entire display unit and remove the backlight to visually ensure that it is an LED backlight and not a cold cathode fluorescent lamp (CCFL). :p

Realistically, it's extremely unlikely that you got the wrong display, especially if the part numbers match up. When you first boot the laptop up, does the backlight seem to come fully on instantly, or does it "warm up" for a few seconds to a minute before reaching maximum brightness? LED lights tend to come on instantly, while older CCFL lights usually take a little while to warm up to full intensity.

When I first boot up, the backlight does come fully on instantly so I probably do have an LED backlight. Thanks for the suggestion.
