    Hey all,
Three days ago I received my Inspiron 1545 with 64-bit Vista and the Dell 1397 WLAN card and right out of the box the Internet speed is dreadfully slow. Connected wirelessly to my Netgear WGR614 router I can only muster about 1mbps versus 5mbps from my XP Inspiron 6000. A persistent ping to yahoo.com shows variable roundtrip times (between 26ms and 200ms) including the occasional timeout. Other devices on my network aren't having any issues. I've tried the autotuning fix amongst a host of others I've found searching for this issue with no luck. Any thoughts? I'm close to sending it back!

My router was not compatible for Vista 64. I had the WGR614v5, and it needed to be v6 or higher. This was not a driver change, I had to buy a new router.
