    Hi,

Maybe what I write sound something repetitive BUT I am looking for a fix. I have tried to unbrick my laptop with the bootable USB flash with my correct A06 BIOS.WPH file extracted from 1564_A06.exe. After plugging in the Power cord and after releasing the END key that I hold for 3 seconds, fan starts spinning BUT there is no light on Power LED and it stays dead with fan spinning. I left the laptop for almost 30 minutes but didn't see anything happening.

Can anyone using this model please tell me if I need a correct phlash.exe file and if yes, then which one should I use. I used the one present in this post.

Waiting for any help that I can appreciate.

It would help to know what happened. I just got a 1564 and love it, on my old laptop I use to just reinstall the os if anything really bad happened. But it sounds like you have somehow missed up your bios too. I have updated the bios once on my desktop and I don't remember it being overly hard, but they did say don't do it unless you have to in the instructions.

well I had created my usb disk by wincrisis.exe and the files that exist in that are BIOS.WPH, MiniDOS and phlash16.exe. I dont know whats wrong. are these the only three files that are needed or should I put some more files in it.

wuhoatu on MDL replied to my query that he used different BIOS copies with different names such as (bios.wph, bios.bak, abl.rom, etc.) in the same USB. May be I should also try this way

As a last resort, contact aqstech.com for a bios repair. I used them for a BIOS repair in Jan of this year, very professional.

Does anyone have the bios files? Dell removed them from the ftp.
Please help, bigsloth, as you are the only one I've met on the internet to successfully recover an inspiron 1564.

    Thanks
