Inspiron 15R / N5010 random freezes

Hi,

I am experiencing random freezes on my Dell Inspiron N5010 / 15R ever since I've had it. The laptop is freezing for about 30 seconds to 1 minute before resuming normal execution.

The whole laptop actually does not completely freeze - most applications are not responding, but still, the system is in trouble.

It seems to be extremely difficult to understand, most people I have shown the problem to are a bit puzzled and it's difficult to identify the nature of the issue. It is very likely a hardware issue or a problematic driver. I have tried all the latest Dell drivers, and the latest vendor-specific drivers too.

Anyone experiencing the same issue?

I am hesitating a lot before calling Dell, because their hotline always wants you to reinstall the system before investigating problems. This of course means wiping out all existing data. Their approach is very dissuasive, they just WON'T help you solve problems if you don't do this first.
