I was wondering what all this laptop is capable of. I currently have a Geforce 310M and I can play practically nothing. I was wondering if the 525M can play games like skyrim, but more importantly Diablo 3 and Dota 2. I know the CPU will be able to handle games, but I don't know very much about mobile graphics cards.

Also, does anyone know of any coupons I can stack on top of the savings already present in this.

    Thank you.

I can play Skyrim @ High quality, I haven't tried Diablo or Dota.
    Battlefield 3 on medium-low quality.

It's a decent midrange card, you will be happy with it especially if it's coupled with i7.

    Good luck :)

I like the idea of a speed boost in load times, but really all that 7200 rpm drive is going to do is add to the heat problem.
As it is the 15r 2nd gen has inadequate cooling which sits right beside the hard drive (almost touching it).
It would be better if they improved the cooling solution instead first..lol

Yep Skyrim plays well on my i5 N5110 @ native res of 720p (1366x768).
I mean it's fairly smooth to play most the time with occasional frame drop here and there, but still fully playable.

DeusEx played quite well in DX11 with a mixture of High/Med/low settings to get smooth game play.

Saints Row 3 plays really well on High settings.

Borderlands plays damn great on Max settings.

Fear 3 plays damn great on max settings.

MW3 plays ok on a mix of high/med/low settings

BF3 plays well on low settings.

If your using an i7 and you don't get heat issues then you'll probably get bet better performance then my i5 version.

I think battlefield 3 is playable at medium settings. And have u not reduced the power state of cpu to 80% to reduce heat?

Yes I have set windows power management to less then 100% and I've also lowered the voltage to the nvidia gpu (edit bios) and yes I run trouble free..
But really if you buy a laptop that states it can run at 2.3~2.9Ghz then you should not have to throttle the laptop just to use it stably without overheating and shutting down.

As for BF3 Yeah I can run it medium, but I find the game runs alot smoother all the time when set to low when using the native res (1366x768).
If I run it on medium then it's smooth but slows down in some areas.
On low it runs constantly smooth in any area.

The Inspiron R SE already released in Australia and Singapore is the 2nd Gen version that will come to the rest of the world. It doesn't have Nvidia but the AMD Radeon 7730 which is equal to the 640m. Frankly, the 650m is not that much better unless it has GDDR5 and even then the build won't be able to handle the heat output.
