Dell didn't tell me I could have windows 7 prof. installed in place of home premium when I bought this machine. Now I have to format the drive and install 7 pro myself. Do I need to make a boot disc for the Dell Utilities? before formatting. Isn't all the bloatware in the utilities?

    thanks

So you are saying Dell didn't offer an upgrade to Windows 7 Professional? You can upgrade via Anytime Upgrade from Home Premium to Professional for 80 bucks.

you can download all the drivers from dells site, but at least have the LAN and wireless and chipset drivers ready on a USB drive, before you format and install the new OS
